Coming out in March unless it gets pushed back. No big surprise there this game is full of bugs. This post is part of the series: Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Troublshooting. The two top buttons work fine but the problem is; I can't get the side buttons to work correctly in Bad Company 2. On a plus note, the game runs really sweet and everything is maxed out. I can navigate the menus fine and in the multiplayer game I can change weapon, mele attack etc, but cannot look around with the mouse. Probably just a fluke or the notifyproperty change not being triggered.
Also the next problem I have is in the first mission, I reach the point where I am to kill the guard on the left, but when I press the mouse button nothing happens. The calculations are correct when 1 count is sent at a time, but when a bunch of counts like 100 are sent at a time, the movement gets accelerated almost 50%. And although I do not play it that much these days, feel free to add me as a friend if you like, same name as on the forums, DirtyLarry Its the drivers. I just binded the keys to the buttons as macros instead of single keys in the Razer software and it works just fine. Just say if you move 90 degrees to the right slow to mid speed with the mouse and you have moved your mouse 5 centimeters to the right on the table. I think the problem might be the calculation for the starting sensitivity.
For anyone not familiar with the term, the deadzone is basically a setting for any joysticks not ancient that allows the user to set how large an area from the center and out that the joystick wont respond to moments. Quick background information, ever since these xbox-gen console ports have come along - games have been using deffered rendering instead of forward rendering. So just had to fix the settings with a bit of experimenting with various sizes on the deadzone and viola. Any ideas to what might be causing this? I'll see if I can tune the calculations to reflect the accelerated real life movement instead of the theoretical correct movement. I have found the solution to my particular problem and ironically, it was very simple. The mouse has 6 extra buttons in addition to the regular left and right click and mouse wheel.
I have triple checked that the setting are configured correctly, and even assigned a keyboard alt to the weapon command, nothing happens. If that does not help, reinstall your Mouse drivers if you do indeed have any. Updates for Battlefield Bad Company 2 Make sure the game is patched to the latest version and that all of your device drivers have been updated, this particularly goes for video drivers, as well as any mouse drivers and software. For example when you move the mouse forward, back, left and right, this is illustrated by corresponding entries in the mouse section. And if your copy is not legitimate, then you may want to look into purchasing the game.
For me, it was just to increase the deadzones on it a little as the joystick is about 2 years old or so. If I try to turn 90 degrees fast, moving my mouse 5 centermeters to the right fast, i wouldnt have turned full 90 degrees. This anti-aliasing is not really doing any blending, but rather blurring. Let me know what you get. My problem was my joystick as the problem disappeared once it was unplugged, but since I uses it to fly I kept messing around with my joystick settings. Two buttons on either side and two buttons on top behind the wheel.
And hopefully what Sikh says below with the drivers sorts it all out. I just set the side buttons to correspond to the buttons on the keyboard I want them to replace in the Razer software. I don't believe acceleration is the issue I was only doing slow mouse movements across the pad to see the amount needed to 360. . However, there are some fixes for this issue for this specific issue that can be found through some resourceful usage of search engines. I'm not using the buttons on the right side.
Thats how I solved this problem. If not, reinstall mouse drivers if you do indeed have them. I'm sorry, but I'm not well versed in some of this. The 2 on the left I have set to Mouse 4 and 5 and they work fine. I then went back into the game and found all my settings were restored to default, i then noticed next to the keyboard settings of forward, back, left and right, there are also entries for X Y axis of the mouse. I have looked at all the mouse settings and enabled and disabled them.
Thankfully, many mouse aiming issues can be quickly and easily resolved, putting you back in control, with the only barrier in your aiming being your own abilities and reaction time. I was wondering if anyone else is having a similar problem or if anyone might know how to fix this. Actual distance in game seems to be around 108 however that's sort of close to what it says on here. So it must be that the joystick sensitivity was a gee bit to high and the game felt even the slightest position out from the center no matter what. Good Luck with that, as it is truly annoying. Not only did it work for me, I read it worked for others when researching it for myself. These might be what are affecting the starting sensitvity, default is 1 by the way.
I'm just going to turn them off the thing has enough buttons already. If the top buttons work and 2 of the side buttons work if you set them to mouse 4 and mouse 5 you could use the other side buttons for voice communication like vent or mumble and have the whole mouse functioning. Does anyone know how to fix these issues? I then removed the two text files above and updated the game via Origin and the same. Thus I could move with the keyboard, but the game did not record the mouse movement. But the former can be hindered by technical problems or through improper settings and can lead to frustration when not working properly.
Like I said, I've tried them in a few other games and they work fine. It works fine for the two top buttons, but the ones on the side don't do anything. Maybe that will help with the resolution issue as well, that I have not encountered or else I would definitely let you know what needs to be done. Trailer doesn't look bad either. I tried them out in a few other games and they work fine. Nothing was modified in any input file, only the sensitivity in game was changed. I have tralled through Origin's forums and none of the reconmended fixes resolve the issue.
